Our teachers strive to gear the curriculum to the interest, abilities and needs of the particular class, keeping in mind the intellectual, social, emotional and physical needs of the children.
They provide as many firsthand experiences as possible and respect the individuality of each child, considering the needs of the total group and promote healthy normal growth.
Teachers work cooperatively with parents who have varying expectations of the preschool while upholding the school’s philosophy, standing firm for the principles of good preschool education.
Laura Wilkerson – BCP Director/Teacher
After ten years of teaching at preschools in Illinois and Maryland, Ms. Laura began teaching at Broadmoor Community Preschool in 1994. She embraces the BCP philosophy that allows her the freedom to offer opportunities and experiences that promote social development through child directed play.
The exceptional BCP families, her husband, Larry, and their son Kevin continue to support her efforts in providing an enriching environment for children to explore and discover. BCP was also Kevin’s first learning environment that helped foster social skills that prepared him for his academic career.
