Broadmoor Community Preschool is a cooperative preschool working to bridge a child’s transition from the home environment to the elementary school environment. We believe that a child profits most when home and school share common goals for the child.
Philosophy and Mission
Parents are a child’s first educator and have entrusted the teachers with assisting in that responsibility. To do this effectively, good communication between the school, parents and teachers is a major factor.
BCP’s goal is to provide a learning environment in which the child develops socialization skills, a positive self-image, and academic readiness in an atmosphere free of stress or competition. The children in the Exploration class (ages 3 and 4) are introduced to these skills and the Discovery children (ages 4 and 5) develop and some master these skills.
The children at BCP have freedom to explore, discover and grow through involvement with the following:
- Organized and free play
- Daily art, music and reading experiences
- Individual and group socialization skills
- Clean, safe classrooms with age appropriate equipment
- Age appropriate theme curriculum
- Group dynamics
